According to research conducted by Berkeley's Insitute of Business and Economic Research, commercial properties are more valuable when certified as "green." Buildings with ENERGY STAR or LEED certification were found to command higher rents than similar, non-certified buildings in the same vicinity (download).

Based on data gathered by MIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering, the carbon footprint of most Americans, including the homeless, exceeds the global average. The report examines the consumption associated with 18 representative lifestyles and can be downloaded here.

Sun Microsystems released a study on the benefits of telecommuting. While savings in fuel and employee commute time were expected, it also found that less energy was required to support employees in the home office than at work (view).
